US Immigration Interview within London?
What can i expect from my interview, at the us embassy for my immigration to the states, what kind of stuff do they ask will there be a drugs test?
Answers:
I in recent times went for my interview for my green card (in the USA though) As a fellow brit I will warn you - if you have have the medical done (and they should have given you a copy for your files) make sure they did the skin test for TB. The doctor I have my medical from saw that I had the BCG vaccine in school and said resourcefully the skin test will show positive for TB due to the vaccination, so I won't do it and will just do the chest X shaft of light. Low and behold, when I went to my interview that caused me all sorts of problems and I couldn't seize my green card approval until I went BACK to the doctor and had the skin test (which obviously said I had TB even though I don't!) The logic of American Immigration!! I never had a drug test, a short time ago asked if I used anything, asked about how much I drank, if I had ever been treated for alcoholism or mental complaint etc. You should be fine. As for what they will ask at the interview, well I was getting my greencard through marriage so it be all about how we met and my relationship with my husband. Depends on if you are going through employment or family connections sponsorship. Just act natural and tell the truth.
When you turn for your medical you will be asked about drug and alcohol use. Drug testing may be carried out but it is not usual. Generally they are looking for communicable diseases and will test you for HIV and syphilis, offer you a chest X-ray, they will check your vaccination record and offer any missing vaccines for a price (it's cheaper if you can bring back your GP to do them), they will ask about your medical history (including mental health issues) and you should have packages from any doctors treating you if you have any condition that may need continuing treatment in the US.
At the Embassy it's possible that you may be asked again roughly speaking this but again they don't ask everyone. Depends which visas you are going for.
Different visas will entail a different line of questioning.
The drugs trial again depends on your history and which visa you are going for.
If you are going for an immigrant visa then at your medical you will be tested for drug use, history of drug use, communicable disease, HIV, TB etc.
If you are going for a non-immigrant visa then your history will be looked at. If you have a history of alcholol or drug use after you could very well be referred to a phychatrist for evaluation as had happen on many occasions.
no drug tests and as long as you own a clean record it should go fine.
Resolved Questions:
Does anyone Know the immigration Law surrounded by UK...? Can someone oblige me pls...?
I am planning to stay abroad for more than six months... On my way back, will i own any problem with my spouse visa...? And will i be able to apply for my residence...? Thank you all. Pauper Prince is right - no problem with re-entering the country on your...
