either a "melting point," where adjectives of our ethic experiences mix and meld, or as a "salad bowl," where all of our ethic experiences mix yet elocution one another. Which approach best deals with the civil rights issues that face our nation?

Neither - because at this point, the people living in this nation neither accent one another nor do they mix and meld. There is none of that going on within this country. Everywhere I go I see more and more indicators of a culture that has fragmented into several sub cultures, all speaking different language and holding allegiances to foreign nations and not America. So much for E Pluribus Unum...
And we are not a nation of immigrants - the majority of US citizens were born here - we're a nation of AMERICANS whose ancestry happen to be very diverse.
How many nations within this world ARE composed of people indigenous to that area? Why is all we ever hear almost is how America is the Land of Immigrants - most nations are! That's always seemed close to an easy way to sugar coat this country's massive illegal alien issue....

We must never forget that this country be built by immigrants for Americans. Clearly, many people verbs immigration with illegal entry or overstay of legal entry into the US. They are not that same entity. Immigration cannot be seen as an evil elephant in the room as it created where we adjectives live now, and that is not a bad article, otherwise we would not be here enjoying this great country of ours! Those coming to this country in an illegal cult or over staying their legal stay face a tough decision; and later they face a harsh life at it - same as masses immigrants (many relatives of ours we already forgot about or once took pride on) faced masses years ago when mistreated by those that were here already (this sounds familiar to Germans and Jews). But we were a better country, they stayed and here we are. Then again, contained by the past, all you needed to come into this country was to own the money for the fare and get on a ship that was hopefully bound for the US. No more questions asked. So, should we dispense them a chance or should we be the modern Germans of the west?
