I lost my passport, I am not American, am I screwed?
I am on 4 years student visa, I lost my passport, it is from non-US country, am I screwed? how can I go home next summer? or even travel around, because I don't have a driving license? what to do? please serve.
Answers:
No one is going to screw you. Unless you are a hot chick, in which case I need your address.
If you are from North Korea, it might be for a while difficult. If you are from the UK, it is easy. Most of the other countries are somewhere in between. So tell me where on earth you are from, and what documents you have, and I'll figure out what you need to do.
Usually, you a moment ago need to contact your embassy or consular office. I live in Washington, DC (near adjectives the embassies), and I am willing to do a little leg work for you. So let me know how I can assist.
These days even the American who have their passport are screwed - by the OPEC.
To answer your question..you just progress to local court or police office or if you are traveling abraod, to a the local American Embessee. WHen you travel aborad, always keep a photocopy of your passport contained by a place separate from your passport. That way if the passport is lodt or stolen, you can give local American Embessee exact details. If you are legal surrounded by US (which you saying you are) then find a website of your embassy. You will probably need a copy of your passport and visa page. If you don`t own those then you are screwed. Contact the embassy, they are going to help you.
You are not just screwed... you are REALLY screwed. You will inevitability to go to your countries consulate and apply for a replacement Passport or you won't be able to leave the U.S. for any other country. You obligation to contact your embassy.
