I want to move from Canada to the United States, how do I progress in the region of doing so?
Right now the plan is that I stay here for a year's worth of Cegep and move to the US after and work.
Reason is I dislike it a lot here. I've spent quite some time within Davenport, Iowa (Which is where I plan to move) and I like it so much more there. The society, the entourage, everything is so much more welcoming. Not to mention the US holds just about every exit possible to the career path I am pursuing.
I've read a bit about different visas and such, but at 18 it's still a bit strong to understand. I do have a girlfriend who lives in the US and I've hear marriage is the "easiest" solution. Being engaged is something we're both envisioning in the long run, but it seem we need to set up an actual marriage to get access to a green card as anti simply remaining engaged.
Anyways, for those who know what the procedures are and what my available options are, I'd highly appreciate your relief :)

You say that you "...read a bit about different visas and such..."
How about reading A LOT roughly speaking this and deciding whether you want to get married to be able to immigrate? Also, retribution a visit to your local US Embassy or Consolate for the lowdown on all the particulars, procedures, and option.
The best way is to come as a fiancee or spouse otherwise unless you have a high level or speciality field you cannot immigrate on your own to the US. simply to many people want to.
walk to the us immg site www.usics.gov or go www.usa.gov and see immigration.
you could come study and then possibly get a livelihood offer here as well but you still must apply for that as well.
