2 - you should hold written to CIC immediately (when you got the letter) and asked for a time extension. State your reason why you cannot obtain all the documents within the required time.

CIC are usually pretty good nearly giving time extensions when you ask. Source(s): PR in Canada - I wrote and asked for a time extension and CIC gave it with no problems.
