Can I use my ITIN instead of my SSN to return with a phone?
I used my ITIN to get a credit card, now I need to know if it's possible to bring a mobile phone from Cingular or T-Mobile with my ITIN?

An ITIN is only valid for file income tax returns. It is designed for non-resident non-citizens who are subject to US income taxes. (E.g. authors whose books sell in the US so their royalties are subject to income charge; ditto for recording artists; investors who receive stock dividends or income from rental properties, etc.) If you use your ITIN instead of an SSN to get a job, receive a credit card or anything else, you are committing fraud and subject to lengthy jail terms and other penalty.
Depends largely on which store you go to since petty managers and shop assistants rarely know the policy and so you may receive lucky and find someone who will and other times you won't. If you want a contract phone, then some carriers also permit you to put down a roomy deposit ($500+) in lieu of a SSN, while others will just flat out refuse you.
If adjectives else fails, you can always get a pay-as-you shift cell phone without either a SSN or an ITIN.
You're not in actual fact supposed to but most of the time the store clerk won't even know the difference.
