Actually, if you have been watching the news, Immigration has slowed over the finishing few years due to economic problems here in U.S.
Legal immigration have slowed down due to economic problems and stricter immigration laws. The fact that unsullied markets have opened up (for example contained by Europe because of the EU accession), Europeans rather stay in Europe. I have hear that a lot of immigrants from Latin America and Asia rather choose Canada, the UK and Australia over the U.S. because their immigration law are not that strict when it comes to skilled worker employment. So to answer your question: I do not think the volume of legal immigration have increased significantly in the past few years. Of course, there are much more applicants than previously but this is due to the fact that there are more and more people living surrounded by the world and there are more and more U.S. citizens who can bring in family member from other countries. USCIS received a record amount of applications (for visas, naturalization etc) last year but the number of immigrants do not really grow due to more job, it is because there have recently be more petitions filed for family members, for instance.
contained by the us you have an immigration problem but at least they are mainly south americans, here contained by the uk most of our immigrants are muslims that expect us to change the country in directive to suit there religious beliefs. Thats why we will be an islamic state within 30 years, isnt multicultralism just great
