You can get a new passport in the UK in a couple of weeks ... same day if you're willing to pay extra.

If you own family in the US, they can sponsor you, but this takes something like 12 years to process.

As a UK citizen, you can travel in and out of the US on the visa waiver programme, and stay for up to 6 months at a time, but you would need to explain the reason for your stop by and, if they suspect you're not just going on a holiday, you may have to prove that you are not planning to stay i.e. a job to return to contained by the UK. On the VWP you would not be allowed to work or study.

As someone with no substantial savings and child care certificate, I would say that your best bet is to go in as an au duet. Look out for ads for US nannies in the press or online. That opening you can try it out and make sure you enjoy living in the US.

Should you ensue to meet someone while in the US, then you can win married and stay, but it will take a while to process your permanent status (someone said 8 months).

Unless you marry an American or have a close relative who is a US citizen, you will not be able to move to the US. You will not get a work visa as you are not qualified satisfactory.
PICK A VISA

There are basically NINE ways that you can get a visa to live and work in the US:

(1) Marriage (or engagement within anticipation of marriage) to a US citizen.

(2) You have skills that are in short supply in the US e.g. solid or medical training. A degree is normally a must. Or you have superior specialist skills next to at least 12 years experience.

(3) You have an Employer who is willing to verbs you - but even the employer has to make a good armour for you - so you have to be a manager unless you fall beneath category (2) above.

(4) You may get a Green card in the diversity lottery (UK citizens, except N.Ireland, are not generally eligible unless you, your spouse or parents be born abroad or held a different citizenship.

(5)You own or buy business (does not get you permanent resident status i.e. no green card)You must be a national of a qualify Treaty countries
The business must have a minimum value of around $150k (more the better) bearing contained by mind you will need somewhere to live and with any startup business you will need at least possible 2 years living money as back up. So a figure of $350k would be a nearer minimum

(6)You are an "investor" i.e. you have at lowest possible US $1m in assets to bring with you. half of that contained by a few areas. And your background will be investigated to the hilt.

(7)You have a close relative (mother, father, brother, sister and no further) who is an US citizen who would sponsor you, approx time this take 2-12 years?

(8.The R1 visa is available to foreign member of religious denominations, having bona fide non-profit religious organizations in the U.S., for entering the U.S. to fetch on the activities of a minister or religious worker as a profession, occupation or vocation

(9)THE UNUSUAL You are in a position to claim refugee status/political asylum. or You procure a member of Congress to sponsor a private bill with legislation that applies just to you.
The S visa issued to individuals who assist US law enforcement to investigate and prosecute crimes and terrorist activities such as money laundering and organized crime

Recruitment agent will not lift you seriously if you are not already in the US. Writing for jobs is really a waste of time; equally US employers have no idea what foreign qualification are or niggardly (except Degrees) it may pay you to get your qualification translated into a US equivalent, there are Companies that do this ..
But if you are getting a visa lower than (2) above then you need a job grant before you can get the visa. Your Employer will be your sponsor this will cost them upward of $5k. So you can see you have to be offering something really special to receive considered They may also have to prove to the Dept of labor that there is no American who can do the job if the position is to be long-lasting
where do you currently live?
You can visit the USA for up to 3 month on the visa waiver program as a tourist. You cannot work during this time. You also will not be able to devolution your status from tourist to employed without leaving the country.
Given that it does not sound similar to you have a finished degree it is extremely unlikely that any company would sponsor you for a work visa.
If you would get married to an US-citizen they could sponsor you (which involves file paperwork and paying fees in a timely manner). But if it is a sham marriage it is not going to do you much appropriate as they will need to stay married to you for 2 years in order for you to acquire a permanent green card. It also involves more time and expense and enough shared life so you can prove that you really live together beside your marriage partner than a sham partner is likely to agree near.

Your chances for immigration will rise as you get a degree. The superior the degree and the better your grades and demonstrated ability in your career, the higher the likelihood that some company in the US is interested within hiring you despite the additional cost of obtaining a work visa for you.
