If he is a legal immigrant, why does he not just win his documents renewed? That would make a lot more sense, and would be easier than going through government hoops. If he is against the law....then I really have no help for ya.
Go to the immigrant's country. he can step to his consulate iin the US and renew his passport
Ok, stop freaking out.. Maybe I can give you some advice that might help. If his papers own been expired for less than a year, then it should be NO problem to bring this corrected. Here they have something called the "Hispanic Apostolate." It's part of the Catholic Church and they do immigration paperwork for really cheap. But I am not going to assume that your fiance is hispanic, so you could other ask the local catholic church because, immigration is immigration, and knowing the system is most of it anyways. Other than that you can go to the Consular office closest to you for your fiance's nationality. They can also oblige you. Now if he has been here longer than a year on expired papers, then first check beside the Consular, because there is a 3 and 10 year bar. I think he would be looking at the 10 year inn on this. But the consular can give you info or help you obtain a waiver. It will be a long costly process but one deeply well worth it to have your beautiful household together. It's really easy for people to begin a superb family together, but the U.S. immigration system, makes it really hard for those family to live together in peace. It's so sad. But one thing is for sure, never confer up. Go get a lawyer if these other routes have lead you to a dead end. But I'm pretty sure you will be able to bring back some promising help in these locations. Good luck and take keeping of yourself.
