Immigration process for foreigner military wife?

I am brazilian and my status in the USA is legal. I am here under my business visa. I hold been living here for 8 months now. Yesterday I got married to my honey ( he serves the US Army, influential duty) and we have an appointment with a immigration lawyer surrounded by 10 days. I am very curious to know what is the process we will have to handle. Anyone know what I am going to face from now on, what to expect? Thanks!

Essentially, since you came within on a visa, your husband will need to file an I-130 immigrant visa petition for you, along with an I-485 adjustment of status form, and request for work authorization and a few other probability and ends. It's all pretty straightforward, but if you feel better going through an attorney, by all process do. It will take USCIS 6 months or more just to process the petition, and then you'll stipulation to go through an adjustment hearing. In actuality, that may well bring longer, since USCIS is backlogged in everything they do. But eventually, you'll get a conditional green card, and after 2 years of marriage, you'll be eligible for unalterable resident status. However, until your green card is adjudicated, you won't be able to leave the US unless you apply for Advance Parole and gain it before you leave. Otherwise, you won't be able to come spinal column until you get an immigrant visa.
