HARLAN -- Authorities are continuing to search for a suspected illegal immigrant from Mexico who stole the identity of a California woman and has be working in Shelby County for the past two years.
Elvia Alcaraz remains on the lam as officials attempt to ambush up with her.
According to Shelby County Sheriff reports, Alcaraz has allegedly been using the identity of a Morena Valley, Ca. woman within order to work in the United States.
Authorities were alerted to the scam when Elvia Ann Torres of Morena Valley call the sheriff's office on July 30 reporting that her identity had been stolen, and be being used by a woman employed at Shelby County Cookers in Harlan.
Torres had said she discovered rear in 2001 that someone had been using her identity. She have been denied California state benefits when she applied, and was contacted by the IRS and state for payment of posterior taxes earned at numerous other employments, most recently Shelby County Cookers, reports said.
Torres asked local authorities to investigate.
According to sheriff reports, Alcaraz had be fired soon after the human resources department at Shelby County Cookers learned that she was not who she claimed to be. She had be employed at the company since April, 2007.
A relative of Alcaraz, also working at Shelby County Cookers, told authorities that her sister was in the United States illegally, beside a current address of Vail, Iowa.
Crawford County and Denison authorities were dispatched to the Vail residence to interview Alcaraz, but to date have been unqualified to locate her.

Nothing will be done until the government realizes this is not a victimless crime. She should serve a lifetime sentence. This is what I mean by illegals who commit crimes relocating to other parts of the U.S. which advocate deny of course.
If all immigrants be fingerprinted this would not have been possible.
Being fingerprinted would cut down the cases of ID theft, and the criminal would not be capable of get employment and law enforcement would be able to track them.
