Can someone relate me how this is a gross despoliation of civil rights the tenet is the canon, right ?
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents on Friday stormed 11 El Balazo restaurants around the Bay Area, arresting 63 illegal immigrants - and drawing the outrage of immigration advocates who have marched the previous day to call for the legalization of undocumented workers.
The raid began at 10:30 Friday morning in San Francisco, San Ramon, Lafayette, Concord, Pleasanton and Danville and involved 62 people from Mexico and one from Guatemala.
Virginia Kice, spokeswoman for the immigration agency, call the arrests "a targeted enforcement action" that is part of a continuing criminal investigation she couldn't discuss further.
Immigration officials photographed, fingerprinted and interviewed adjectives of those arrested. Ten women and one man were quickly released on humanitarian grounds, including pregnancy and medical concerns, pending adjectives immigration proceedings, Kice said.
The rest were being processed, and the majority of them were expected to be released beneath supervision. Some of the illegal immigrants had prior criminal convictions or deportation information and will be detained.
Evelyn Sanchez, advocacy coordinator for the Bay Area Immigrant Rights Coalition, was trying to connect with the workers as they were released to ensure they know their rights and were treated fairly.
She said the immigration agents got scrabble warrants for the El Balazo restaurants, ordered the doors be shut and interrogated the employees inside.
"It was a gross ruin of civil rights, and it's just unfortunate that this happened the afternoon after May Day when literally thousands of immigrants throughout the Bay Area marched to have this type of hustle and bustle stopped," she said. "It just goes to show we need alien immigration laws."

the only thing gross is that they were not immediatly executed Sounds resembling we've finally turned a corner in this War on Immigration!
Give the strategy time to work!
since when do mexicans care about law? irony at its finest. they only care about law that might benefit THEM.
they got arrested on illegal alien protest day. that is to say awesome.
sheriff joe for president!
razor jim, immediate deportation is not punishment. we must imprison surrounded by tent jails for years first before deporting.
targeting illegal goings-on and illegal aliens is not a violation of civil rights, since their "rights" are limited to rudimentary humanitarian and do not go further. I applaud the action and condemn the reaction as ably as the lack of deportation! Deportation!
It's not a violation. If they were wicked then, not only should they have be arrested, but deported too. Illegal means illegal. If I commit a crime here, I would be punished. Sounds like they get off easy. The only entity gross is they weren't taken to be processed for deportation. Why bother with the raids, if we don't get rid of some of the directive breakers?
By the number arrested in this small operation...It purely goes to show that we need more targeted enforcement action.
Also interesting that it be 62 people from Mexico and 1 from Guatamala.
Isn't that about right for the percentages of where on earth they all come from?
Illegal aliens have the right to return to their home country. And I'd suggest sending the pregnant ones home to their families first. There's no "gross ruin of civil rights" in enforcing the immigration and labor laws of this country. But the pro-amnesty brigade have a vested interest in illegal aliens -- primarily making money off of them. when my kids return with caught grabbing a cookie when they know their not supposed to they often put up an argument that's its not fair, they know it was wrong but hey try to fight it if they can is the idea. those that want illegals to not be free to work here and live here as if they are U.S. citizens are susceptible .there are those of us that when we enter an elevator know that it was designed to hold a maximum amount of weight not unlimited and we wont enter it if we touch uncertain that there is safely room for us. next there's those that never even give a thought and cram themselves in. the later are the ones that support the illegals no foresight at adjectives just emotions "they need our oblige, they are just looking to better their lives, its the Christian thing to do!" christ didn't teach us to be fools any, the concept of the bible was to make us think and the associates of Israel did defend their land with the blessings of God so We inevitability to defend ours now Close the boarder and deport, deport, deport also NO anchor baby's laws should be drafted surrounded by congress right away retroactive to 2000. or close to it. Harsh you bet but we need to realize this is no game here and our leaders need to get the drift it fully or be made to do some honest work if they qualify.
it's just plain semantics. it's word play. it's telling a sob story, so that lots of people who are for the illegals will be sympathetic and hop on the bandwagon. You cannot fight against a sovereign nation's immigration laws. EVERY nation, even mexico, has immigration law. You cannot have court orders to stop what is right, by law. it doesn't formulate sense to a normal person's thought process for those crybaby immigrant rights coalitions to stand up to the laws of our immigration system. I don't know why they always do it. screw la raza, and the rest of them! they mention the civil rights piece, so that black people will go on the side of the mexicans. Blacks are Americans, which illegal mexicans aren't, and never will be. if the blacks are smart, they WILL stir on the side of the mexicans...#1 and #2!! The majority are expected to be released under supervision? THAT is ridiculous! No, it's not a gross violation of civil rights. The gross violation is within federal immigration and employment laws. I'm astounded this happened in a sanctuary city such as San Francisco, BUT I'm also pleased to facts that some changes seem to be happening.
Get a clue, though, ICE, stop releasing them "underneath supervision" or "for humanitarian" purposes. Ridiculous!
