No one is saying they can't arrest illegal immigrants for commiting cries. But, and perchance you don't know this, simply being in the country without a valid visa isn't a crime--it's a contravention of immigration law, but not a crime. Thus, local police shouldn't be involved in determining a person's citizenship. But even someone like me, who believes within a radical opening of the borders, supports a local police officers to arrest anyone, aboriginal or immigrant, legal or illegal, for committing a crime.

I think you're confusing dubious aliens with foreign diplomats. Illegal aliens don't have illegal alien imperviousness. if they're found committing a crime, they're arrested like anyone else. that's why we have so many contained by our jails already. It's what happens after they're arrested and in detain that matters. a number of states cooperate with immigration to identify dubious immigrant felons and have them deported immediately after they've finished their sentences. Doesn't occur every time. but most of the dangerous felons that are deported every year are deported this way.
The police can arrest anyone they see or suspect of committing a crime regardless of weather they are legal or illegal.
Regardless if they are ILLEGAL INVADERS or citizens if the police see a drug treaty they shoud step in.
