How difficult is it for immigrant to adjust to living contained by America?
I am not going to go into much detail here other than to say I enjoy a really close friend from Trinidad & Tobago who is considering moving to America. She is a bit afraid of leaving behind all that she know there and adjusting to our culture. I really do not want her to go through next to it if I am sure it will have a negative impact on her.
So, I am just wondering if here are any other people who have immigrated to America that would not mind sharing a little feedback on their experience and how comfortable or difficult it was for them to adjust. I am interested in hearing from society who have been here for a week all the approach to people who have been living here for years. Any feedback is welcome.

My grandparents started the immigration process in 1922. They spoke of the discrimination and resentment they experienced here contained by Calif.. They were required to learn to read and write in English and surpass the American Constitution. Through the grace of God and their determination they were able to pass the Constitution after one year. Neither one of them received a formal tuition when they were young either. I get the impression very proud that they were able to realize that, when English was there second-language. Heaven help them if they slipped and allowed someone to hear them speak contained by their first language.
In those days it was illegal to relieve an immigrant financially,the message was sink or swim. Whereas, now days so many of the those that are in the process or are here illegally are able to get your hands on money, food and medical for free.
When my grandmother was expecting she said many of the Anglo-Saxon women would look through the store windows point and guffaw at her.One of their babies was breach and when my grandfather and my grandmother went to the hospital the staff voiced their displeasure. How could a immigrant think that they could afford a hospital when the true Americans couldn't.
My grandmother died when she be 98 years old .When my grandmother was 96 years old she could still remember the nurses moniker that treated them so poorly and appeared to be further enraged when my grandfather paid for my father's delivery within cash that day!
My grandmother could tell you every aspect of the nurses appearance even after 70 years have passed.
Post-Depression was another experience for my grandparents. One day two men knocked at my grandparents front door and asked to speak to the man of the house. My grandfather be a very quiet, soft-spoken and gentle soul. The two government officials asked my grandparents to leave this country because of the Depression and stating they needed to salvage all the work for the American citizens. My grandfather replied we are America citizens, and all my sons and daughters were born and raise in America. They proceeded to tell my grandfather that the government would buy a ticket for adjectives his children, he and his wife if they would just back to their country. My grandfather repeated we are American citizens and we are not going anywhere and thanked them for their time.
My grandparents other lived in the rural northern California area and I can say the first 50 years be full of discrimination but the last 20 plus was somewhat better. My grandparents be very respected and liked in the community but........... they be still immigrants to some. Though there were frequent unfortunate and hurtful years they were able to live the American dream. They bought and compensated for their home in one year. They owned cars and had the comforts they needed. They were competent to vote and three of their children (first generation) went to four-year universities.
Of course in tons peoples eyes they were of meager means, but in their minds and heart they were rich...... because they succeeded.
The one thing that really stands out in my mind is the certainty that many of the people that resented people resembling my grandparents, were unable to read and write and some of them were never homeowners.
You verbalize about somebody mutilating the English language, that would be them.

men, women and children be placed in a room together and required to strip.They were doused with a hose containing an insecticide of some type.
Sadly, my grandmother be one of the women that was chosen by the officials and was photographed surrounded by the nude. My grandmother suffered in silence and shame for decades as a result of the American government employees. Yes,I am aware this be widespread.
My question is do people really believe it have improved that much over the years?

i am an iraqi
and here in syria and Jordan and egypt iraqis are traveling to america as refugees (some are wealthy) and all that near the financial help of the UNHCR (united nation human...something...refugees)
and with all that Support they couldn't pedal it emotionally and financially and more than 70% of them are trying to go back to iraq.
so if she doesn't have a friend at hand or a relative that can help her and support her then i don't think it's a polite idea
