You need to bring your ID. Before a driver's license will do, After 911, rules have changed. In another year, you'll need passport even by landscape. Now you do by air.
are you just visiting? do you call for a visa (depends on what country you are from)
all passengers on a bus must show their ID and visa to the immigration officer. If any passenger has any problems they must donate the bus (sometimes they can take their luggage, and sometimes they cant). The bus then continues and that person get left behind.
It's very extensive. I took my strip (I'm a teacher) there this April and they went through everything...Yeah, I mean close to all of it. Every "carry on" like purse on a bus, checked for drugs, you name it. I would certainly have a birth cirtificate or ID on you, because it will not be flowing. After September 11, 2001, it's all different than how it used to be. You need proper ID. A passport is the best option. If you don't hold one, you'll need a certified copy of your birth certificate AND a gov't issued ID (ie, license or state issued non drivers ID)
