Until a better system gets in place we're wasting millions to house and deport { Court costs etc} ppl who return inwardly a week. I don't know how this problem should be tackled from beginning to end. The few getting deported doesn't nearly touch the current illegals daily. Visa overstays border crossings it's quite a problem. I hope SOMEONE can come to some conclusive ideas on this as it's getting worse not better. Now beside the WORLD economy getting so bad and countries having food shortages I see unendorsed immigration to wealthier countries exploding. I'm afraid we need to consider how GLOBALLY we can prevent the hunger that drives ppl to such a desperate act. Did you mean to write 'illegal' immigrant?
Certainly less money that has been lost contained by unpaid federal, state and local income taxes. Certainly less than the costs to pay for 'free' social services, housing and the cost of those now contained by prison.
You know what's so funny almost this immigration debate? Americans are immigrants too. The Native Americans were here first and now they're adjectives on reservations. I think that there needs to be consideration given to those that are here and of a mind to work and contribute to society. Those that aren't need to go along with those that are here already and not contributing (i.e. drug dealer and other social misfits). Illegal immigration in and of itself in America is a paradoxical statement. Right now, it would cost around 210 billion dollars to deport all the illegals over the next 5 years (just over 40 Billion per year). The strain of illegals on our economy over like peas in a pod period would be more than double that.
I say deport them all. Costs seriously at first, but saves money in the long run.
Of course, this action doesn't transport into account the millions of illegals that would leave on their own which would make the $210 billion price ticket even less.

It's not a waste to deport illegals, immigrants come here legally!!! It is a excess of money for illegals to go to school, get on welfare, expect free medical etc.... I would to some extent my tax dollars go to deport them instead of to support them!!! Removing those who have no permissible or moral right to be here is NEVER a waste of money. It cost much less to repatriate them that it does to provide services to them for years.
Very little, they don't deport as many as they should.They are sponging from our systems and costing taxpayers mega bucks within health care, food stamps, schooling their children, and housing. Among other things. It wastes zilch! In fact, an increase in budget would be great! They need to spend more to hold on to them out, once they have been deported as well as securing the borders against other criminals!!
