Can I marry a US citizen minus have a Green Card?
Answers:
Same gender marrige is not recognized contained by US Immigration Law.
You cannot get spouse visa based on same gender marital in US.
If your girlfriend is from Texas, forget it. Gay marriage is not recognized here contained by the Lone Star state.
Only two of the 50 states recognize same sex marriage: California and Massachusetts.
The federal govt doesnt recognize the nuptials as legal even if it is performed in California or Massachusetts. As such, in that is absolutely NO protection or rights under any federal laws or federal social programs--NONE.
Further, a bridal performed in either of those states is not well-known anywhere in the other 48 states either.
Why bother? Go stand on some mountain top somewhere and have a heart to heart exchange of mood. It's the same thing in the eyes of the US federal govt and the colossal majority of US states.
Yes. Just go to CA and get married. Or you could go to MA. In both MA and CA you involve a valid picture ID.(passport should do) You do NOT have to be a resident of either state. MA requires a 3 day waiting extent between the license issuance and the wedding, CA has no waiting period. Neither state requires blood test. Good Luck!
Yes with some big exeptions.

You can't come here for the purpose of marriage unless you plan to leave right after the marriage and step back to your own country. If you come here planning to marry then try to stay you will be considered guilty of immigration fraud.
If you marry here and go home you can afterwards apply for a spousal visa to come back, it takes 6 months to a year.
If you want to marry here and stay here with him you first stipulation to apply for a fiancee visa K-1. It takes about 6 months to a year.
Go to http://www.visajourney.com for lots of free guides and help. The forums at hand are full of people who are getting married to or who have married Americans and are a great source of help and support through adjectives the paperwork.
My K-1 took 5 months from beginning to end and that included a delay so it can be faster than 6 months. The forms are not difficult, but they do want to be done accurately. Good Luck Source(s): Married to an American
Yes. If the union is declared binding and trial in the US, then you do not need a Green Card.
Yes. You can marry and then apply for the green card if you want to live here.
Yes, because for all they know/care, that US citizen is moving to the UK. It's not like you have to ask concurrence. The problem is that unless you start the immigration process, you will be in huge trouble if you come here.
You need to wait for say-so from the US gov't after going through proper channels. Honestly, you need to be careful. They love to tablet people for doing things like this, and you may never be able to jump to the US.
The literal answer to your question is "yes" in that your GF can marry you and come to the UK if you sponsor her there. But if you marry her and consequently try to join her in the US without getting a spousal visa contained by order you are asking for a world of trouble. Being that it's a gay marriage they might not even recognise that. I'll have to ask my buddy who worked for immigration tomorrow when we dance crabbing. That's a good question. You may not be eligible for a spousal visa at all. I don't infer you are.
i believe this entitles you to a green card, if i remember that gerald depardieu film....
Yes here I am again.
My husband is a Brit and I am from the US.
All states have age laws before you can marry.
Why must you marry so soon?
Why can you not continue until you can support your own self.
You still live with mum.
Wait until you have lived on your OWN before tallying another person to the equation.
Even if you do get married in another state, Texas may not adopt it.
You might want to read up on gov websites before making final plans.
Immigrating to the US is very expensive.
You better start making lots of money.
You are looking at about lb4000 for everything...and to be precise just the CHEAP way of going through it. Source(s): Edit-Does not matter which channel you do it...you need a spousal visa and they most likely will not give one contained by either country until the age of consent which is 18.
