Why visa for Romanian citizens?
to get in US and Canada Romanian citizens have to hold a visa, the process is very humiliating it takes place at the American consulate in Bucharest. I hold many american friends and they told me when they came to Bucharest the didn't have to grasp through this humiliating process. Now is the first time I had the occasion to travel to US...first I am so surprised how many Americans presume low of other european nations, especially of France, I am not french, I am Romanian but it looks to me frenchies are the least popular Europeans in US....within my mind US people are European descendants in majority so I truly don't see why all this Visas and adjectives this nationalist views...

Because the rejection rate for tourist visas to the US is over 10%, and that's base on your countrymen violating terms of the tourist visa - overstaying, working without authorization.

Currently, Romanians and Bulgarians are disallowed to work in the UK. Nationals from there have not be granted unrestricted access to the UK labour market since the countries joined the EU at the start of 2007, unlike workers from eight former communist countries which united the EU in 2004.
Visas are also required for visitors from Poland to the US. Basically the countries on the visa waiver are those whose residents return home before their tourist visa expires. Poland have been trying to get the visa requirement lifted, but it's not going to start as long as thousands of Poles a year overstay their visas and become illegal immigrants in the US. I don't know roughly Romania specifically, but chances are there have be so many Romanians who have stayed on in the US criminally that have to interview people to determine who is most likely to return home
because you are Romanian, don't make you special, you want to come to US, you need a visa, this is not European union. this is United States.
Probably because more Romanians never leave the US and Canada after they come in on a visa, than Americans and Canadians never walk out Romania. Romania will have a better chance after it becomes a full associate of the European Union.
