Years accumulate for application for citizenship?

hi. i am a permanent resident who plans to finish my education abroad(because i already have credits there). according to immigration rules, you must live contained by the US for 5 years before you can apply for application. you shouldn't be out of the country for more than 1 year. and finally, for the 5 year stay(60 months), you must be present in the US for 30 months(half the time).

so what i'm planning is this...

this is how long I'll be present in the US
year 1:12 months
year 2:6 months
year 3:2 months
year 4:2 months
year 5:12 months

if i do this, i'll be staying here for 34 months right? i'm planning to attain a reentry permit. and if i stay out of the country for 10 months for 2 years, would that reset the 5 year stay? i mean, i wont be out of the country for more than a year any way and i am going to be present surrounded by the country for more than 30 months.

I really need help about this. so that i'd bring to finish college. after that, i'll be settling here in the US anyway. your answers will be deeply appreciated. or you guys could at least detail me what forums or websites i should be going to make sure:D thanks alot:D

The five year clock re-starts from zero at the commencing of year 5. Everything before then is wiped out.
If you leave the country for 6 months you hold to start from 0. It is called "Continuous Residence". So according to your plan it will take 9 years. Source(s): Guide to Naturalization

You don't assemble time to become a citizen!! It's 5 years in this country - period!! Of course, it doesn't say you can't pilfer a vacation during this time out of the country! BUT! you can only stay 6 months whereever you go, and be rear here before that time lapses!! You have to salary taxes too! I don't see why you can't have your credits pransferred to this country and finish your education here! That makes more sense to me! It costs money flying within and out of the country too! Who is paying for all this flying!? You know something, it's going get harder and harder to get into this country pretty soon, and if you still plan on this endevour, I give attention to you will find you will be left out in the cold, and may never get put a bet on in! If you want to be a citizen, then spend your money and time here!
