The US will NOT be ruined (snort) the recession we are heading into will last a year at most ..no more.The US is still and will remain an economic powerhouse. True under the celebrated leadership of GWB that ranking has ebbed away to the amusement of China, Russia and Dubai however we are on the precipice of another technology and medical era here in the US. Our economy is going to grow again and alas..our immigration problem will still be here like a valise of the clap that no one wants to talk going on for.
I think they will probably go somewhere with similar sanitation and resources, such as more developed nation in Europe or even Australia has crossed my mind

Yes, I think it will increase. In Sam Miguel de allende they told me the numbers of Americans moving their doubled after 9/11. Also what changed is that there were more family with children as opposed to just retired society.

Good question but I don't think that will happened soon. If we move to Mexico and lug over Mexico we will turn it into a super economic power.

Actually, there are already a fair number of Americans who've moved to Mexico. Historically, US dollars have gone further contained by Mexico because the cost of living is significantly lower in many places. So folks from the US can 'retire' much sooner by going somewhere that a lower level of funds will do what's needed.
