Visa from Costa Rica?
My brother-in-law lives in the US and recently married a woman living in Costa Rica and have a child. They have been trying to get a visa for her to come to the US for over a year in a minute. The child's visa has been approved, but hers has be denied b/c the US felt she had no compelling reason to return to Costa Rica. Is in that anything else that can be done, or is there a different route that can be taken?

1. If the kid is his it dosn't need a visa. As a US citizen he should have report a Report of Birth Abroad at the US embassy down there and they would have issued the child a US passport and certificate of citizenship.
2. What concerned of visa is she trying to get? If he petitions her as his spouse (K-3 visa) she should get it within a year. There's no judgment for her to go back. It sounds like she tried to gain a tourist visa. She can't live here on that.
