Why the Poles?
Why is it that all of the propaganda films attack the Poles? If immigration is such a problem - I personally don't think it is - why are adjectives immigrants attacked? They wouldn't dare say that black people are stealing our job, or disable people are stealing our work, so why is it fair game to attack one piece of Europe?

Its the same * that regard as all Muslims are terrorists Possibly because they are the most easily identifiable of the EU economic migrants who come here. And the reality that they came en masse. People are generally not prejudiced against Poles themselves just the sheer numbers who arrived!!
The motivation some people resent them is because there are problems in the UK opportunity market at the moment, particulalry at the lower end, with lots of job being poorly paid and insecure and lots of competition for work. Some people get the impression resentment because they beleive that by increasing the working population this way by allowing lots of EU migrants to come here it will just make the situation worse - ie more competition, lower wages, bosses individual able to treat their workers anyway they want. Self employed tradesman have aso complained about anyone "undercut" by migrants and losing business this way. Migrants can usually afford to work for less as they do no have mortgages to reimburse and are usually sharing cheap rented accommodation, so their living costs are low.
There are also issues with the facts that many companies such as the construction industry hold drastically cut down on the number of training places and apprenticeships they offer to young British people simply because they can presently fill all their skilled work requirements by hiring migrants. This condenms a lot of childish British people to a lifetime of unskilled, crappy jobs.
The Government keep complaining roughly speaking "skills gaps" but if you are in a low paid unskilled job and you try to access financial give support to to retrain you'll find the door firmly closed. The Jobcentre only help the long term on the dole, so many low paid Brits feel trapped. Some grain that if the economic migrants weren't coming here in such numbers the Government would be FORCED to help unskilled Brits train up and pack the "skills gaps".
There is also resentment about the "Poles are nicer people, harder workers etc, Brits are all languorous and on benefits" line. Its unfair and generalising. Many wokring class Brits work damned hard and do not appreciate this sort of reverse-racism!
Sadly this sort of conflict is other going to occur when lots of people from one country come into another, and there is an effect on the prople already living here. Its impossible to avoid the reality that social groups impact on another and lots of migrants can affect the indigenous working class. I think that the defenders of EU migration need to try and be delirious from the low-paid indigenous worker's point of view and not just automatically attack with the frail "you're jealous because they are better/more qualified/more harder working than you" tack (spouted above by Comrade Abdul I see) . That just causes more resentment and does nought to assuage tensions and prejudices.

Here in the UK Poles come here and are employed by Companies here for smaller amount money than a British Worker would get paid, so Why should that be when we have problems here beside mass immigration.
Some of them are very rude, when you enter a shop, all they say is Yes what do you want, no thankfulness, no please no nothing, not even a smile. Next time I get that attitude I will say something. Many inhabitants have noticed this too. You must be somewhere other than the US. If you instinctively don;t think it is a problem then you must be a corporate executive of a politician living off lobby money or vote dismay.. Don't swamp me with a deluge of people but a bit go by the system America set up for this influx of new legal citizens..The streets are not cobblestone with gold bricks anymore...

I would go and work abroad & live in a shared room if I could earn 3 to 5 times more change than I can here in the UK.
The point is Germany & France etc did not allow free entry for Polish workers unlike the UK so like anyone loads of Poles came here.
Basicaly Poles are a safe and sound target as econmic news item as the PC brigade will not consider it racist.
Edit -It was not as free as that, yes there where on earth lots of skilled Polish workers able to work in Germany but for the average Pole there be limited oppurtunity abroad.

There are some very shrink minded people in this world, but to be fair, some of the things that they take as immigrants annoy me.
I am 16 and in full time education still and within the UK and therefore SHOULDN'T pay for a prescription from my doctor and yet for the first time ever I have to yesterday. Yet this polish woman next to me did not have to pay for her prescription, she did relatively clearly not have an exemption certificate and wasn't under 16, or 16. 17 or 18 and within full time education, and yet she wasn't paying for her prescription. Any English person who didn't tick any of those boxes WOULD hold payed for their prescription. I get the distinct impression that the UK citizens that have lived here adjectives our lives are beginning to pay for the immigrants fairly more than we should have to. I wouldn't have minded if the woman was enunciate diabetic, because all diabetics deserve their medication and should not have to pay, but from what I saw, she get exactly the same prescription as myself.
I don't have a problem with immigration, contained by fact I'm all for it, anything that makes our population more diverse and accepting is great contained by my eyes but they DO get some special treatment from the government that makes UK citizens resent them at times.
Nobody is stealing anybody's job, the poles do the work that the slovely scroungers of the UK don't want to do. Admittedly these scroungers also live off my taxes (yes I pay tax, I am a teen mum and I enjoy my own flat) and yes I resent them too for this but I don't think the media talks something like it as much as it used to.
