US Voluntary Departure?
I left the US about 6 months ago after my immigration judge granted me voluntary departure. Is this different from regular "deportation"? and how is it going to affect me?
As the answer I bring here may persuade me to apply for traveler's visa, I would like you to refrain from speculating.

Assuming the individual who accepts the voluntary departure leaves within the length of time given to him/her by the judge, the consequences of removal order do not attached. This means that the 10-year slab which is a ground for inadmissibility for those in deportation proceedings do not actually apply and the individual may #generally return to the U.S. if a visa is available.# However, it is important to play up that there other ground for inadmissibility that may still apply. While the removal order ground for inadmissibility will not apply, the ten year bar may still attached contained by cases where the person who accepted the voluntary departure accrue unlawful presence for more than one year prior to the removal hearing under Section 212(a)(9)(B)(i). Also, if a person comes subsidise illegally after taking voluntary departure, at least in the Ninth Circuit he would be subject to reinstatement of removal beneath INA ยง 241(a)(5). http://www.philippinenews.com/article.ph...
