Can dependent spouse on G4 visa bring back a work authorization?

Married to me. She married while a I-130 was pending, which it still is (her mother is a citizen). No I-485 was applied for. So even though she holds a non-immigrant visa, she have a Green Card application pending. In this situation I'd like her to get a work grant, without having to get an employer missive, as most employers want work authorization first. It's like a catch-22. If she must write a self-employment letter, what sort of notification would qualify?

No
There seems to be a bit of confusion here. A I-485, in this case, is a green card application, so your wife does NOT enjoy a green card application pending if no I-485 was applied for. An I-130 is an application for a visa to come to the US. As far as working is concerned she can apply for permission to work but it depends on the present agreement between the government of the two nations as to if it will be granted.
