Why do the pilgrims receive the credit for founding America, when others, s/a the Spanish and French get here 1st?
I'm not talking about who originally inhabited America, I know it was the local Americans. I'm talking about those who came from other countries plentiful years before the pilgrims to plymouth rock.

Well, if you look at who actually established the nation itself, it's none of the above. All of the others established colonies here and set up land, but they didn't establish the nation itself. Because the spanish DISCOVERED America and the Pilgrims founded it by implement laws. The Spanish didn't stay to live here, it was the Pilgrims who settled.
Did you read the link you posted? Almost every colony timetabled was "annihilated by the ______" or "died out due to disease".
The early settlements were business venture - with only the goal of trading and finding lucrative wares to rob back to Europe. Many of those early all-male settlements suffered or failed or be wiped out by attacks from Native Americans or settlers from other countries.
The pilgrims came with the intent of staying. They brought family and set up permanent colonies. Of course, they landed in 1620 and the US didn't come into individual for another 150-odd years. Many of the signers of the Declaration of Independence were direct descendants of the Mayflower pilgrims and other early settlers.
It's freshly a case of cultural imperialism, beauty is in the eye of the beholder Do you speak Spanish or French as your aboriginal tongue? Enough said.
I don't think the pilgrims to get credit for founding America. They aid to establish colonies, but I believe it was the members of the 2nd Continental Congress Assemblage, whom, through the insistance of Thomas Jefferson, drafted and signed the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 who founded America. Basically, those that established an independent government. in actuality it was christopher columbus who discovered the americas. he was italian, he used the spaniards to fund his voyage. and they was dumb adequate to fall for it.
There is the period of History you could name .. pre-law and then a period you could call primitive imperative. The pilgrims do get the credit with that idea call.
The Pope gave half the world to Spain. And while they looked the northern areas over, they simply did not want them. They did not try and use them, or control them.
The French came and for one things: they required furs and riches. They took them too. And when they were done, rather often they go home.
The Pilgrims came to this country to escape religious persecution. They stayed, worshiped, and tried to create a society that the people could count on for mutual defense from outstandingly rapacious Europeans, and very violent (and toward everyone that were not of their 'people') tribes.
But the Spanish and French did not come much previously than others. They actually did not come to the North American area in any numbers at adjectives, and they exploited what they found rather than settled what they saw.
The pilgrims get credit for establishing a viable colony here not for finding the Americas. The vikings discovered America and the pilgrims settled it.
Because the winners write the history books.
