Why should english NOT be the authoritative communication of the US and be required for adjectives immigrant coming to the US?

ppl that won brought up how expennsive translators can be and that during a time of economic recession, it is completly unfair to place that burden on citizens who cannot aford it.
Find statistics on how various people don't speak English, and then how many of those society cannot aford translators.
You can say it takes away the essence of our "great American melting pot" and general public shouldn't have their culture taken away.
reemember, they don't expect u to agree with everything that you say,but ALWYS spawn a convvincing argument and pretend that you do :)
p.s. If ur opponents bring up the same argument that BDZot did abt expense for the gov't, you say that its better to put the expense on the gov't than the individual (cuz of the expense of translators)
First off, the first European language spoken in the investigational world [including the U.S.] was Spanish, after the English stole most of all the Northern part English come about , but listen English is not the only language made by God , I suppose inmigrants should learn it to live here , but it should not be mandatory! the official language of the United States is English, Spanish is second, it say a lot eh? , Because if it is the official language afterwards english would get first favor, and signs, voting ballots, publications, channels, music, radio stations, and special school in other languages would be very markedly limited. Making English the official language is not required because it is already the dominant language of the USA. Everyone needs to learn it, but various Americans speak a language other than english at home or while growing up. Also the USA is so vast that the different parts of the country hold different history and cultural influence. For example, the south west is heavily Mexican, Spanish, and original American because of its history while the southern states have a mix of Anglo, French/Cajun, Afro-Creole, African-American, and Spanish influences. Really, most people who think english should be the leader language are people from the NorthEast or Anglo culture, which has highest colonial english/ americana influences. People have to realize that there is more to the country that their section of it. Also, here are many schools across the country that american kids go to swot up their ethnic language such as Greek, Armenian, Hebrew, and Spanish language schools. English be never the only spoken languge here in the USA. I also find that american kids who have backround contained by english and another language do much better that monolingual kids. People get paranoid because they think english is threatned, but it isn't. We already conduct business and college in the language, it isn't right to make it executive in such as diverse country that has many types of empire playing major parts in its formation. It would strip the majority of americans of their culture, and leave one and only Anglo-Protestants to dominate in culture. English will stay, no need to make it administrator. Why don't we focus on the election or getting our troops out of Iraq.

Well this argument is humane of weak but you could say that by not requiring English you allow immigrants to preserve an important part of their culture and pass it down to their children. It should be the leader language. There is no other if or but about it.
