I enter the USA near a tourist visa surrounded by Jan 1997, but be not issued i-94. Married US Citizen. Can I adjust?
Here's the deal. I am Mexican. I came to the USA in January 1997 next to a tourist visa. I was never issued i-94. In those days you were given a little piece of treatise that says "Border Crossing Card", (Form I-444, no personal information on it, just the date scribbled on there that you're supposed to come rear to Mexico). However, that little form I-444 was lost. I don't know what happened to it. I think it must've fall out of my passport when we moved.
Anyway, I've been in the USA since 1997 so yes, I am an illegal immigrant right presently, even though I entered the USA legally.
I married a US Citizen in January. I would resembling to know if I can adjust my status here in the USA. I still have my old passport near the Visa page on it, and also the stamp showing that I was admitted through Texas and duely inspected as a tourist.
Oh, another thing, I've never be convicted of any crimes whatsoever.
So, basically, in summary:
1) I am a Visa Overstay since 1997
2) I lost my I-444 (I was never given i-94)
3) I hold my passport with my other Visa page and admission stamp
4) I am married to a US Citizen
5) Never been within trouble.
Can I adjust here in the USA? Thanks!

I will I knew the process. But, my cousin did this for her husband who was also a visa overstay.
Yes you can prove your lawful entry with the visa and entry stamp but you have overstayed your visa and hence broken the immigration law and are eligible for deportation . You probably hold to wait till amenesty opens up again . Contact an immigration lawyer for exact details.
