You mean "dual." Unless you're looking for a swordfight.
There is no such item as a dual passport. If your parents were US citizens when you were born, depending on the year of your birth, you are probably eligible for US citizenship. It is not automatic, you have to be registered as a US citizen. Usually parents do this for their children, you will requirement your birth certificate, your parents birth certificates and a detailed list of the countries that your parents inhabited throughout their lives previous to your birth.
If all that passes muster you can apply for a US passport that you must use when travelling to the US.
If your parents be US citizens and met US residency requirements prior to your birth, you are automaticall a citizen.
The current law is that the USC parent(s) must have been a US citizen and be present for 5 years in the USA prior to your birth, and at least two of those years must have be after they turned 14. Prior to 1986 it was 10 years instead of 5.
Unfortunately, the law has changed several times and to determine citizenship for any being, the laws in effect at the time of their birth must be applied. Look at the link surrounded by the source for specific dates.
Note that a foreign-born child whose parent(s) have fulfilled the residency or physical presence requirements is considered a US citizen by birth. This citizenship is automatic; it is not dependent on the parents' registering the child with a US consulate. Source(s): http://www.richw.org/dualcit/law.html
