Immigration lawyer, what do they do?
My family and I (all 4 of us are US citizens) are trying to apply for Canadian PR and my dad is considering getting an immigration lawyer. But he also said they cost a lot. How much will they cost to relief us through one PR application and how much do they really help? I am just curious. Thanks.
(No offense to any immigration lawyers that surf this site. It would be great if you answered as in good health, I am just curious, not meaning to offend you.)

what they do is take your money.then screw you.unless you give them more money.later some time goes by.and they screw you again.and so on,and so on.
Canadian immigration is a much simple process(and faster) then American Process

All of them charge different fees and yes, your dad is right that they can be expensive (they might charge hundreds or thousands of dollars) especially if they follow through a adjectives case and you ask for more than just a consulation. They are needed in complicated cases though. They can assistance you by explaining the laws, giving you advice on what to do and how and they can even fill out the forms on your behalf. In certainty, immigration lawyers have their own websites in heaps cases so if you type in "immigration lawyer", you will get a lot of results afterwards you can compare the fees also. If your case is not complicated and you have no illegal or criminal perspective, I do not think an immigration lawyer is indispensable but your dad might feel better if an expert deal with your case. I don't think US citizens would hold to worry about moving to Canada and Canada's immigration policy is pretty clear.
be careful lawyers rip you rotten. Source(s): me, myself and i
