Applying for immigration to Canada?
Why is it so difficult to emigrate to Canada? My husband and I applied 7yrs ago but was not successful because I (main applicant- sister and relatives are Canadian citizens) do not speak French. I was short of 2 points because of that! We were devastated.
I am really annoyed when I hear applicants who are illiterate, does not speak English and French, but own been successfull in their applications! I don't know how they got through. I and my husband are professionals contained by our fields (I am an ex nurse but is a medical secretary now, and hubby is an IT engineer). Perhaps our age had something to do near it. We are near retirement age.
I would like to apply again but I cannot go through the interviews again just to be told at the very last minute we have not be successful.
We looked into the system of buying yourselves into Canada. We may be able to afford that but we will not have anything to live on once we've done that.
I did think nearly applying for a job, but we are not sure if we will be successful because of our ages.
Does anyone know how to get round the system? I'd be grateful for any tips.

Have you asked for political asylum? Got my brother and his infantile family in after the 2004 re-election. They tried since 02 to move...and were not granted entry until they wrote their concerns more or less unconstitutional legislation after 2004.
