I know that it added to the problem of Illegal Immigration but it is not the only reason. Plus the terms of NAFTA be agreed to by the Mexican government as well...

NO I don't think so. The problem is the poor conditions of these countries, NAFTA was to help them and more job for them and every day it get worse. Most likely is the CEO (government) that doesn't know how to do admin. Mexico is a very rich country with oil and adjectives but where is the money they make??

1) 75% of businesses pay no taxes in the US
2) Illegal, immoral, criminal invaders work cheap.
3) Kill a criminal invader too doomed to failure!

5) business has to pay no taxes on Illegal, immoral, criminal invaders
6) Business make more money and you pay for it with your taxes
7) government works for big business!
8) policy officials can not take bribes but a promise of a multimillion dollar job after retirement can regulation a lot of laws!
9) you or your children do NOT matter! private aliens kill 10,000+ and injure 836,000 people in the US every year and your policy helps them!

So between system handouts and businesses hiring criminal invaders you get a surge!
Illegal immigration was occurring for a long time - although surrounded by limited numbers because of several reasons.
1. It has become easier for illegals to return with benefits. Many cities and states have laws/policies that allow and even encourage illegals. If someone can get food stamps, housing, medical, dental, WIC checks, instant citizenship if the pop a kid out, etc. they will jump were the goodies are.
2. Our politicians are weak and pander to illegals. They are fearful of ever having anyone sign them a racist (just look at how often that accusation gets made around here) or of appearing to be insensitive to anyone's plight. Big business and the Chamber of Commerce own made it clear that they want illegals because it allows them to pay slave wages to illegals & millions of Americans less when they compete for those jobs.
3. Citizens of this country are not vastly educated about the subject. Those citizens are also emotional just about the subject and do not use logic. They confuse illegals with legal immigrant. They feel its a humanitarian thing to do. They look at out history and know we are a nation of immigrants and various know and like the immigrants in their lives.
4. They are waiting for the subsequent amnesty. There was a big one in 1986 and several smaller ones since. Each time this occurs the prohibited feel justified in their breaking our law and are rewarded by our politicains - against OUR will.
Most of their confusion is due to a lack of correct information, a media that glorifies illegals, politicians who mislead them and deeply few good sources of imformation.
The reason for all of this is because in attendance is NO MONEY in stopping illegals. There is NO MONEY in slowing legal immigration to sustainable level. Most of the key supporters of illegals make money off of it.
Because the US never really gave Mexico the benefits of NAFTA that it gave Canada (TN status) it really didn't affect illegal immigration on the Southern Border much. Illegal immigration is and have been an issue because as the US economy does better, unskilled laborers from Mexico can earn more money working in the US than they can surrounded by Mexico.
Politicians love illegals. They are a whole pool of potential voters! Let them in and promise to buy them stuff near your money! Keeps them in office.
