Can my employer stop paying SMP if my work travel document expires and I translation my visa status to a dependant visa?
I am on deputation from a Indian company and working in London from last 2.5 years. I have work receipt arranged by my employer.I want to go on maternity leave and my employer say that they can pay me SMP only until my Work permit is valid and if I adjustment my visa status to a dependant visa they cannot pay me SMP. How do i continue getting SMP from my employer or Jobcentre?

renew your working visa... and when your maternity evacuate is up, go back to work.
its illegal; to be employed here lacking the relevent visa.. if you dont hold the visa you dont get employed.
if you get the work visa, and then dont be in motion back after your maternity leave, your employer can gross you pay all your smp back.
As far as I'm aware, you can't go and get SMP without having a valid work permit. Without a valid work security an employer can not employ you, and therefore you can not claim any benefits associated with one an employee, such as SMP.
On a dependant visa your passport will probably be stamped with no recourse to public funds - meaning you can't claim any benefits.
