Italian Citizenship give a hand please?
I was wanting to become an Italian citizen so i can travel more freely through Europe but my dad isn't an Italian citizen, but both my Nonna and Nonno are. So i was wondering is it legal for my dad to claim citizenship first and after through him i can claim it?

Why you vote your dad isn't an Italian citizen? If both his parents gave up their Italian citizenship before he was born or your dad himself expressly give up his Italian citizenship, *then* your dad is not Italian; otherwise he's considered by Italian law as "born Italian"; he has the right to apply for Italian citizenship, which is then given *automatichally*. But alike apply for you: if your grandparents didn't gave up their Italian citizenship before your dad was born and your dad didn't give up his Italian citizenship before you were born, then you are considered "born Italian", and if you apply Italian citizenship is given to you automatically. And there's no requirement your dad apply for Italian citizenship as well.

If your Nonna and Nonno are Italians, then your father is too. Maybe he acquired another citizenship, but if he did that after 1992 he didn't lose his Italian citizenship. Also, if you were already born when he acquire a foreign citizenship, maybe you're already Italian too, because you were too young to opt for yourself at the time.
Contact your nearest Italian Consulate, and before calling them get ready next to your grandparents' dates and places of birth, your father's date and place of birth and the date in which he was naturalize with his new citizenship. Maybe you're just a couple of signatures away from getting an Italian passport...
